Dr. Mark Smith
Dr. Mark’s dad was a dental lab technician, so he was introduced to the field of dentistry at a young age. When it came time to choose his career path, he knew he wanted to be a dentist so he could spend his days helping people stay healthy and get out of pain. He’s been a dentist near Denison for almost 30 years now, and he has loved every moment of it!
As for his studies, Dr. Mark chose to attend Grayson County College before graduating from the Baylor College of Dentistry with his dental doctorate. Throughout the years, he has prioritized continuing education and advanced training through professional organizations like the Texas Dental Association. That way, he can continue to provide the people in his treatment chair with comfortable, custom, and cutting-edge care.
On the evenings and weekends, Dr. Mark enjoys spending time with family and fishing. He also is an avid traveler and is always planning his next trip!
Dr. Grant Smith
Just like Dr. Mark was introduced to the field of dentistry by his dad, Dr. Grant was introduced to it by him. He even worked in the office filing charts and assisting his father during his summer breaks! From a young age, he loved the balance of art and science, and he ultimately decided to become a dentist as well.
Dr. Grant graduated from Texas Christian University before pursuing his dental degree at the Baylor College of Dentistry. Since then, he has achieved two major goals: becoming a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and graduating from the prestigious Kois Center. If that wasn’t impressive enough, he is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association.
Outside the office, you’ll most likely find Dr. Grant hiking, traveling, or relaxing with friends and family.
Dr. Sharlenne Sumpter
Growing up, Dr. Sumpter loved science. In fact, she loved it so much she decided to use her talent and passion in a research lab! However, she found it to be a bit lonely, and ultimately decided to pivot to dentistry after shadowing a few dentists.
Dr. Sumpter attended both Florida International University and Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry. Since then, she has pursued continuing education with the Academy of General Dentistry and several other professional organizations. Plus, she has completed advanced training for Level I Conscious Sedation as well! Now, she’s excited to use everything she has learned over the years to help our Denison patients get the top-tier care they deserve in a calming, welcoming environment.
Dr. Sumpter was actually born in Russia, grew up in Miami, and met her husband in Dallas! They have a son, Danny, and enjoy spending their time together going to the pool, painting in the backyard, and traveling.

Love Dr. Mark and Dr. Grant! They both do wonderful work on my teeth. They are friendly, humble Christian men. I’ve gone to them for years and won’t use any other dentists. The staff are also friendly and helpful. They love their workplace.

All too often, patients underestimate just how important routine dental checkups and teeth cleanings are. The reality is that these periodic appointments ensure we catch tooth decay, oral cancer, damaged restorations, gum disease, and other conditions early on. Plus, we need to provide a thorough cleaning twice a year to ensure plaque and tartar don’t build up over time.
I Need a Dentist for My Child
Whether your child is about to start kindergarten, or they are heading into their senior year of high school, they are welcome at our dental office near Denison! In fact, we can help them with everything from routine checkups to root canal treatment, ensuring that their smile stays happy and healthy throughout the years. We’ll welcome them to each appointment with a smile and make sure they leave our office with a smile too!
I Have a Cavity or Broken Tooth
Tooth decay is extremely common, but it’s just one of the many oral health problems patients need to keep an eye out for. The good news is that you can turn to us with any abnormal dental symptoms you’re experiencing – from pain when biting down to bleeding gums. We’ll do our best to make the process of restoring your smile as smooth and painless as possible!
I am Missing 1 or More Teeth
Tooth loss is something more than 170 million Americans struggle with. Since it doesn’t take long for the look, health, and function of your smile to be negatively affected, we strongly recommend coming in for an appointment sooner rather than later. Once we know a bit more about your dental needs and aesthetic goals, we can determine if a dental bridge, dentures, or dental implants are best for you.
I Want to Improve My Smile
For us, the goal is to give you a smile that’s as healthy as it is beautiful. If you aren’t happy with your teeth because you feel that they could be whiter, straighter, or more symmetrical, then let us know; we offer several cosmetic dental treatments at our office, including veneers, teeth whitening, and gum recontouring! At your consultation, we can review all of the services available to you so you can confidently decide how you want to proceed.
I am Scared of the Dentist
Dental-related anxiety is more common than you might think. So, if you’ve put off essential preventive, restorative, or emergency dental care because of fear, stress, or nerves, you’re not alone. At our dental office near Denison, we offer sedation dentistry to ensure that even patients who struggle with intense anxiety can get the care they need in a calm, relaxing, and comfortable manner.
I Have Pain in My Jaw
If you struggle with chronic jaw pain, you hear a popping or clicking noise when you chew, or you get headaches frequently, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder may be to blame. The best way to find out is to schedule an appointment with Dr. Mark, Dr. Grant, or Dr. Sharlenne so they can determine if that’s the case. If it is, then they will work with you to create a custom treatment plan that will realign your bite and alleviate pressure being placed on your jaw joints.
I Have a Dental Emergency
Dental injuries like a damaged restoration or knocked-out tooth aren’t just painful to experience – they are often stressful to handle! Fortunately, patients who reside in or around Denison can turn to us for help. Over the phone, we will schedule an emergency exam and give you helpful instructions on what to do until you arrive at our office. Once you arrive, our emergency dentists will quickly pinpoint the root of the problem as well as determine the best way to address it so your pain-free smile is restored.
